The Gravity Bender is a series of four books. Each contains violent scenes and implies past violence. I don't believe violence should ever be cartoonish. It should be based on the reality of physical violence, and those scenes occur only to advance the story. I do not draw out at the violence. The stories cover the loss of parents, brothers, sisters, and friends and how that sense of loss never goes away.

My characters swear.  The heroine is an interstellar sailor. Sailors swear. This story includes characters from the Armed Forces and law enforcement, two professions I'm very familiar with in two separate careers. They swear especially when surprised or wounded, no matter how religious or secular. Much of the swearing is in a language I made up or in the language of ancient Roman Legionnaires (a lot who swore as well as anyone).

The Gravity Bender series includes sexually explicit scenes.  Usually, maybe not always, when two people fall in love, it results in a physical relationship... lovemaking.  I have them, implied and explicit, in all four books.
